The purpose of this project is to entertain and to tell you, the listeners, about historical events that do not fit into the history curriculum but are worth telling.

Let’s be honest here: at the moment this is a one-man show. To get the best possible results, I use modern technology — otherwise I’d need a whole orchestra, and that’s something I simply can’t afford.

The ingredients of Archival Blood are what I enjoy the most:

I love the choirs of those 50s and 60s knight movies like Ivanhoe.
I like black metal screams — a lot, obviously.
I like duets and the mix of languages.
I like black metal, symphonic metal, power metal. Well, all kinds of metal, honestly.
I love the sound of brass and medieval instruments.
And of course I devour historical fiction, which I’d recommend to anyone.

I really do try to create the kind of music I think should exist — if not for the masses, then at least for me. If nothing else, I’m pitching ideas for songs I’d like to hear.

One more thing: I know the pronunciation isn’t always correct, especially in the Old English and French parts, but I’ve left it as it is because I like it that way. Not everything is historically accurate either, but I’ve tried my best to strike a balance with artistic licence.
